Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
From its first brick building on Weybridge Street built in 1839-1840 under the Pastorship of Reverend John B. Daley, the congregation grew until another building had to be considered.
Under the Pastorship of Rev. Msgr. J.D. Shannon, the beautiful marble ediface that St. Mary's has today began. The cornerstone of the new Church of the Assumption was blessed July 1895 by the Right Reverend John S. Michaud, Coadjutor Bishop of Burlington.
Mass was said for the first time on December 13, 1903 after many delays with construction and lack of funds. The building was totally finished by September 1, 1907.
