Thursday, April 01, 2010

  Saint Mary’s School

is pleased to announce

 the appointment of our

New Principal effective July 1, 2010

Mrs. Angela Pohlen

Angela has been working in Catholic Education for the last six years. A former 3rd and 5th grade teacher, she has spent the last two years as the vice principal of American Martyrs School, the largest and one of the most successful elementary schools in the Los Angeles Archdiocese. Angela has extensive experience with everything from fundraising to implementing innovative instructional strategies. She completed her Masters Degree in Catholic Inclusive Education from Loyola Marymount University in 2009, which focuses on meeting both the curricular and behavioral needs of individual learners in a general classroom setting. On this topic, she has spoken at the NICE (National Inclusive Catholic Educators) Conference in San Francisco, as well as at the LMU Inclusion Conference in Los Angeles. She is the mother of three school-aged children who will be attending St. Mary’s in the fall. Both she and her husband Andy, a video editor, are lifelong Catholics who cherish their faith and keep it at the center of their lives. Angela and her family are looking forward with great anticipation to settling in Middlebury, creating a home, and helping to write the next chapter in St. Mary’s legacy. She will begin July 1, 2010.

Welcome, Angela
